3 Food Podcasts I Can’t Stop Consuming

I’m a sucker for a podcast. Seriously, if I could have them playing all day, I would. Perhaps with a bit of music thrown in there…

I listen to all sorts of podcasts. I love the fly-on-wall familiarity of listening to an intimate conversation. Where else would I get to hear all these fascinating people share stories and advice and wisdom?

I have listened to both Telling Everybody Everything by TV’s Katherine Ryan and Shagged Married Annoyed by Chris & Rosie Ramsey from the start and haven’t missed an episode of either. And you best believe I’m obsessed with Olivia’s House, because in my opinion everything Olivia Attwood touches is GOLD. I’m also partial to some Joe Marler Will See You Now and Davina McCall’s Begin Again.

It will come as no surprise whatsoever to learn that food podcasts are in my weekly rotation. But with so many on the market, where do you start?

Listen, it’s the same as anything in life, our personal preferences differ. I might enjoy something you hate and vice versa. These are just the top ones that I simply cannot stop listening to.

3 Food Podcast Recommendations

Jessie Ware and Lennie Ware sit next to eachother at a table under the banner "Table Manners", the title of their food podcast.

Jessie Ware & mum Lennie invite an array of dazzling guests over to break bread and yap. From international icons like Dolly Parton and everyone’s girl crush Gillian Anderson to homegrown comedy talent like Aisling Bea and, the nation’s sweetheart, Danny Dyer. Their guest list sparkles while the conversations reveal tender memories about food, childhood, and nostalgic tastes. With Jessie & Lennie’s affectionate bickering (find me a mother/daughter combo that doesn’t do this!) you really feel like you’ve pulled up a chair at their table.

Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett are pictures against a pink backdrop with the title of their podcast, Dish, featured behind them.

One of my cheffing idols, Angela Hartnett, sits alongside presenter Nick Grimshaw to host a different guest each week. Made with Waitrose, Angela cooks something unbelievable for each guest as they chat before enjoying a meal together. What I love most about this podcast – aside from the warm banter between Angela and Nick - is the skill involved. Whether it’s answering a listener question or talking through the method of this episode’s recipe, you’re guaranteed a pearl of wisdom from Angela each week.

James Acaster and Ed Gamble sit at a table confronted by popadoms or bread for their food podcast cover: Off Menu

From comedians James Acaster and Ed Gamble, this is a light-hearted, funny, and often silly offering. Built around the concept of designing your dream menu, I will never stop laughing at the guests who are taken aback by Jame’s abrupt “POPPADOMS OR BREAD?” The answer is, of course, bread. I won’t hear any arguments on that. The selling point for me is, while this is definitely in the funny category of foodie podcasts, our hosts (but specifically Ed) have a genuine passion for food. There’s a sweet spot between comedy and meaningful conversations about eating.

Sometimes all three series have the same guests on – unavoidable on the press circuit, right? But because each of them offers something different, I’ve never heard the same conversation thrice.

I dabble in other food podcasts, but these are the three that I come back to time and time again to keep feasting my ears on. You can usually find me listening to one while I whip up my next recipe.
